Manchester University begins a four-game week's schedule with a trip to Anderson Unievrsity's Don Braden Field Tuesday, April 2.

Senior pitcher Kyle Konarski (Elkhart, Ind.), en route to HCAC Pitcher of the Week honors, fired a complete-game decision in the opener, while the Spartan bats helped push across eight runs in game two as part of a doubleheader sweep March 30. … The Black and Gold remains a strong fixture on the current league statistics' report. They have four of the top five pitchers (senior Bryce Murphy of Ossian, Ind./junior Dylan Padgett, Kirklin, Ind./senior Justin Scott, Fort Wayne, Ind./Konarski) earned run average-wise with Murphy at 0.81, Padgett at 1.51, Scott at 1.64 and Konarski at 1.86; two of top five hurlers in regards to wins (Konarski – T-1st – four/Padgett – T-3rd – three); the top pitcher in regards to saves (Murphy – five); three of the top five players in steals (sophomore outfielder Kyle Norris, Indianapolis, Ind./sophomore second baseman Trevor Kimm, Anderson, Ind./senior outfielder Cody Schell, Granger, Ind. – 10 each); two of the top five in runs batted in (junior third baseman Jordan Nieman, Michigan City, Ind. – first with 34/senior shortstop Corey Marchant, Fort Wayne, Ind. – fourth with 21); and one among the top five in home runs (Nieman – T-2nd – three). … The two sides split four games a year ago. Each team won on the other's home field in the regular season and then both earned wins against the other in the conference tournament. Recent history has been very competitive in the series with Anderson holding a slim 12-11 edge dating back through 2006.

Earlham Visit: MU returns to Gratz Field to face the Earlham College Quakers in an HCAC series Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6.
