TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Manchester University wrapped up the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with flying colors Sunday, Feb. 11.

The Spartans closed out a fourth-place team finish, totaling 193 points to trail league rival Anderson University by just three for a top three slot, with three top-five finishes in the pool at the Vigo County Aquatic Center. Junior diver Anjel Clemente (Rensselaer, Ind.) guided the final day charge with a fourth-place effort in one-meter diving that was only half the story as a 435.35 score in the morning's preliminaries earned him a spot at the 2018 NCAA Division III Central Region Championships hosted by the University of Chicago Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3.

Adding to Clemente's first four mark was sophomore Christain Poole (Anderson, Ind.). Concluding a three-day run of six top-five marks, he wound up fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (49.12 seconds) and anchored a similar finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as he, juniors Nathan Koch (Columbia City, Ind.) and Guerby Ruuska (Rensselaer, Ind.) and freshman Jacob Ramer (Crawfordsville, Ind.) swam to a 3:30.38.

The Black and Gold return to action Saturday, Feb. 24, sending select individuals to Kenyon College of Ohio's Fast Chance event.
