Runner-up marks lead way at Huntington

HUNTINGTON, IND. – Manchester University registered a strong 98-point team effort, winding up fourth in a six-team field at Huntington University's Invitational Saturday, April 8.

The Spartans' team total left them only nine points out of the top three as Adrian College of Michigan ended the afternoon and early evening inside King Track and Field Stadium with 107. Grace College stood first (203) followed by the host Foresters (126).

Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Brian Cashdollar's squad received a trio of runner-up efforts helped the Black and Gold to their team point compilation. Sophomore Jordan Pennington (Richmond, Ind.) launched the shot put 13.29 meters; fellow sophomore Alex Sanders (Kouts, Ind.) went over 3.95 meters for second in the pole vault; and junior Harrison Hollis (Lebanon, Ind.) clocked an 11.11-second finish in the 100 for a runner-up mark, too.

Manchester University continues its 2017 slate Saturday, April 15, at the 2017 Indiana Division III Championships hosted by DePauw University.
