Spartans picked among HCAC top five

GREENWOOD, IN. – Manchester University was tabbed fourth on the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball coaches poll, released Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Coach Josh Dzurick's squad earned 74 points and one first-place vote. Hanover and Franklin, each of whom shared a piece of the 2012 conference title, went one-two with the Panthers picking up 91 points and four first-place votes followed by the Grizzlies with 89 points and five first-place votes. Transylvania was picked third with 77 points.

The Spartans begin the 2012-13 season at their own Banker's Classic Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17. MU opposes Muskingum at 7 p.m. Friday and defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Mount Union at 3 p.m. Saturday.
