OTTERBEIN, OHIO – Junior goalkeeper Emily Willmann (Montpelier, Ind.) kept Manchester University close throughout Saturday, Sept. 21. She earned 11 saves in the midst of a 21-4 shots advantage for Otterbein College.
However, the host Cardinals took advantage of a late first half corner kick that turned into the only goal of the 90 minutes in a 1-0 final at Clements Field. The Black and Gold, dropping to 4-4-1 with their first loss in three dates against the Ohio Athletic Conference, did take three strikes at Otterbein's net but all were turned away.
Sophomore midfielder Allison Rowe (Palm City, Calif.), sophomore forward Brandy Crouse (Cleves, Ohio) and freshman defender Emily Anderson (Ann Arbor, Mich.) added up for Manchester University's offense. They each finished with a shot on goal apiece.
MU wraps up its non-conference slate and faces its fourth OAC school of the season Saturday, Sept. 28, when it travels to Wilmington College. Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Charlie Gilhart Field on WC's campus.
