Gilley and Leeper each recorded singles' wins. Gilley, improving to 3-6, battled past Anderson University's Courtney Postmus in three sets (6-1, 2-6, 6-2), while Leeper, moving over .500 (5-4), dispatched the Ravens' Sylvia Schering in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). They also teamed up for a 9-8 whiteknuckler over Postmus and Ashley Millikan for two of three Spartans' doubles' points.
The home team managed the key 5-4 win due to a sweep of three through six singles and a win at number three doubles. MU (3-7 overall, 2-4 HCAC) picked up its final point with the number two doubles combo of senior Abby Berry (Huntington, Ind.) and sophomore Megan Buckner (Muncie, Ind.) gaining an 8-3 decision.
