Four end in kill double figures, highlight Franklin trip

FRANKLIN, IND. – Sophomore middle hitter Devin Clark (Madison, Ind.) guided Manchester University in a triangular at Franklin College's Spurlock Center Saturday, Sept. 28.

Clark turned in team highs of a .179 attack percentage and six blocks against the host Franklin College and Indiana University – Kokomo. She was also among a group of four that had double digits in kills, ending with 10 in a 3-0 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference defeat at the hands of the Grizzlies and a 3-1 loss to IU-Kokomo.

Fellow sophomore Sarah Pruden (Noblesville, Ind.), playing at outside hitter, had a pair of team bests in kills (19) and service aces (four). Freshman outside hitter Courtney Chowning (Yorktown, Ind.) (15 kills) and sophomore middle hitter Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) (13 kills) also wound up in kill double figures.

Manchester University (4-11 overall, 0-1 HCAC) returns to its home court at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena Saturday, Oct. 5, hosting Hanover College as part of a home and away week. The Spartans make a short trip to the University of St. Francis of Fort Wayne, Ind., Wednesday, Oct. 2.
